RIC supports research and education about and especially with civil sustainability projects. We are especially interested in projects aiming to arrive at a symbiosis of the diverse sustainability aspects in their community – ecovillages, transition towns and other forms of socio-ecological cooperations.
With this aim in mind we created a social (and technical platform) to facilitate communication and cooperation between academia and activists. Thereby, we hope to achieve transformative knowledge for new societal paths towards cultures of sustainability. RIC is a contact institution for the actors involved, including students.
Other tangible short- and long-term goals are:
get to know and invite new cooperation partners,
initiate, accompany and carry out research projects,
create a databse for socio-ecological cooperations,
and organise workshops and other events.
Finally, establish a research institute.
